Saturday 10/2 *SERVICE* AXAA Beaver Day
Yes its BEAVER DAY at the YMCA! Jonah, the YMCA contact person, said
we had done such a great job last year with 15 people attending that I
just couldn't refuse. The project will run 10:30 to 2:00 with lunch
provided at 2:00. Directions will be available later. It would be
polite to RSVP for this so they will know how much lunch to cook, but
I think a few drop-ins would be ok. This project could benefit for
the care of a loving PC. To volunteer or RSVP call me at
(617)648-4014 or Cline17@aol.com.
Saturday 10/16 *SOCIAL* AX Steak FryGarrotings. No, wait, aaaagh!
The Fall 1993 AXcoAPO Steak Fry will be October 16 at 6pm, Next
House Country Kitchen. Bring Your Own Knife. Auction will hopefully
commence at 8pm, since I'd like to have Auction wrapped up by 9:30,
so those who want to go to the second showing of LSC (Last Action Hero)
(as if they would -want- to, but hey, that's their option) can. Btw, 6pm
means that we'll start taking order at 6pm, so if you like 5 second steaks,
6:00pm is the time to show up. RSVP: (617) 253-3788.
Saturday 10/23 *SERVICE* City Year Servathon.
It actually happens this date.
Saturday-Sunday 11/20-1 *SERVICE* ESP - Splash
Splash is a weekend event held by the Educational Studies Program at
MIT. Volunteers are needed to teach 7th - 12th graders just about
anything you would like to teach them. Classes can range from 1 to 12
hours in length and subjects range from tap dancing, to nuclear
technology, to the history of religion. But preparation is the key to
a good course so plan ahead and contact Dale Worley at
drw@math.mit.edu or (617)899-7947 or ESP at edsp@athena.mit.edu or
(617)253-4882.
