Minutes of Chapter Meeting, April 4, 2001

Administrative notes:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Start: 8:05 pm; End: 8:30 pm Present: Ian, Laura D, Oliver, Stephanie,
Aaron, Lael, Benazeer, her sister, Eric, Carolyn, Nick, Joia, Katherine,
Alan, Lokie, Emily, Mims, Ellen, Sam, Ray, Yevgeniya, Antonio.
Officers' reports:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SVP (Eric): Hi. Go to Conclave! Youth Spring Service Day will be
       happening soon, either during the week or a weekend. It'll be
       either at a public school or a youth-oriented shelter. If somehow
       both of these fall through, then we'll have some other kind of
       project at that time.

MVP (Sam): [leaves oblivion] [looks up] Oh, hi. We have lovely and
       glamorous pledges. Life is good. Yeah.

FVP (Lael): Hi! I am in really desperate need of a PC for Steak Fry.
       It's in 2 and a half weeks, and my soul is lost in 2.007 land. All
       my base will belong to whoever offers to help with this...

Treasurer (Ray): We have money. Some of you owe some. Pay it!

AC (Laura): Yo. Lokie tells me that we now have office keys for the
       new (well, relatively new) brothers. CAC finally got the right
       blanks. Thanks to Aaron for representing us at yesterday's ASA
       meeting. I've been a slacker about minutes; bug me, so I'll get
       better.

APOcEd (Lokie): I need sleep. APOc is not out yet. Sigh. After
       conclave...

OM (Antonio): I have no idea how the office is. I know about the
       .111 lab, though.

PubDir (Katherine): When people email asking for help with drop
       poster, please feel free to offer to help them, as I also am all too
       familiar with the .111 lab.

Historian (Oliver): I've been trying to make the family trees nice
       and happy. I'll keep working on that.

Advisory Comm. Chair (Ellen): Hi. Go to Conclave and help out!
       Also, be looking for advisors, especially MIT faculty/staff ones.

President (Ian): The next chapter meeting will feature Officer Nom-
       inations and DSKs.

Committee reports:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Conclave:  Emily: Aaron will email the transport schedule soon after
       this meeting. If you think you're going, but haven't seen email
       from him, that means we don't think you're signed up.  If this
       is the case, let us know. We'll need people to leave as early as
       possible on Friday, to help set things up.  Also, do be on time.
       Please do not make your car late! (On Sunday, there will be a
       brief cleanup; we expect to leave by early afternoon.)
Emily: We are looking to borrow the following items: copies of Sour
       Notes, needle-nose pliers, power strips and extension cords, and
       [a list of items to be sent to apo-news later tonight].
Emily: Conclave relates to sectional, not chapter, treasury. So, if you
       haven't paid, expect to pay when you arrive at Conclave.  Ray
       has declared that if your debt list has enough money to cover
       the cost of Conclave, you can pay that way, but otherwise, you
       need to use real money. Giving Sam a check is fine. If payment
       is a problem, talk to me or Ian. (Also, staff shirts will exist; if
       you want to keep yours, you'll need to pay $6.
Emily: We still need a person to offer tie-dye clue. (We already have
       all the materials ready.)
Old Business:
New Business:
Announcements:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Emily: Conclave! Conclave! Conclave! Conclave! Conclave!

Katherine: Help silkscreen conclave staff shirts after this meeting!

Carolyn: Interested in burning hammer handles? Talk to me.

Emily: If you have a car and are free tomorrow (Thursday), talk to me.

Alan: The press shop has been restocked with various useful items,
       such as at signs.

Alan: If I get a request for Steak Fry invites, then there will likely be
       a training run involved.

Lael: Eric has volunteered to deal with food/setup on the day of Steak
       Fry, but we still need a head PC to do the planning.

PFTGOTO:
~~~~~~~
Lael: Tours!
Carolyn: Conclave!
Emily: [censored] can bite me if the [censored] doesn't get there first.
Lokie: Videos are cool, but due dates suck when they're soon.
Carolyn:  22-gauge wire isn't useful for teaching chain mail, but it's
       useful for creating random last-minute trophies.
Emily: Conclave!
Sam: IHTFP. [many people second]
Ian: 409 is useful for removing unidentifiable junk.
Ellen: There are insufficient hours in the day. Someone should fix this.
Carolyn: Anyone have a really small hex wrench I can use?
Ian: Everyone wave at Mims!
Laura: Everyone say hi to Benazeer's sister!
