This sounds like a lot of fun, if a bit far away (New York)

Is anyone interested in PC-ing this?  You would need to make reservations
someplace Friday night, and then organize transport for everyone that is
going.

National Ocean Sciences Bowl
Saturday, February 10, 2001

EVENT DESCRIPTION: The regional competition of the National Ocean Sciences
Bowl, hosted by the New England Aquarium, is a one-day competition among
high school students that follows a rapid-fire Q&A format. Categories
include the biology, chemistry, geology, physics, history and economics of
the ocean, as well as ocean-related current events.  The National Ocean
Sciences Bowl is sponsored by The Consortium for Oceanographic Research &
Education, the National Marine Educators Association, the Chief of Naval
Research, the Oceanographer of the Navy, the NSF, NASA and NOAA.
	
RESPONSIBILITIES: Volunteers for Ocean Sciences Bowl will be assigned
various event support duties including: set up and breakdown of the event,
greeting spectators and participants, and serving as timekeepers,
scorekeepers, rules judges and runners. Volunteers for this event need NO
science experience.

COMMITMENT:	Volunteer groups for this project are asked to commit to at
least one half day 7:45am-12:45pm, and are welcome to stay on to watch the
finals of the event. This event will be held at the World Trade Center.
