Construction Project In Dorchester on Saturday
We are helping to build barriers around the drip edges of houses to keep
water from leaching lead out of the soil and killing little kids and dogs.
The project is not dangerous to us, but it would be good to bring gloves
to the event as well as face masks, if you are worried about inhaling
lots of dirt.
We will be getting there around 10 in the morning, and there will be
directions if you want to come around noon-time. The project should take
most of the afternoon, and we may go there multiple days if enough people
are interested.
We will be bringing heavy gloves and hammers, if you have these, bring
'em, if not don't fret the chapter has some as do they.
From they're words:
Framing the barriers; These barrier edges will be created out of
cobblestones lined up next to each other or pressure treated lumber. We
will try to have the lumber all precut. We will need help loading it on
the morning of the work day(s). we will also need some people have
experience using power and or hand tools.
We ay be able to get danish from Au Bon Pain and if people could bring
money for drinks or bring drinks with them that would be great.
Directions will soon follow.
