                        Memo to Monsters:

Being a monster is a hard job. You're stuck in a dark hole, probably
wearing an uncomfortable
costume, or barely able to see through your mask. We'll do what we can to
make life more
pleasant; we'll be rotating monsters through different roles throughout the
night, and there's a
maze-wide shutdown and break at the midpoint. And remember: the monsters
are why the guests
are here tonight, so give them a good show!

Here are some guidelines for giving the guests the best possible
experience...

Stay alert! There will be inevitable lulls in the flow of guests...But be
aware that a guest may be
just around the corner and about to enter your room! Don't wander off and
leave your post
deserted. Learn the noises from the rooms before yours, and be prepared for
an incoming
guest...Remember that your job is to scare the guests, not the other way
around!

Scare frontwards! We need to keep a smooth flow of guests throughout the
maze. In most
cases, you'll have a little nook to hide in until the guests approach.
Don't jump out in front of
them, because this may stop them dead, or even make them go backwards! Wait
until they're at
your position, or a little beyond it, before you trigger the scare...This
keeps them accelerating
through the maze!

Watch for frightened children! And listen for the code phrase, "Is anybody
out there?" If a
guide calls this phrase before entering a room, that means there's a
frightened child in the group.
A lit flashlight is another cue to turn down the scare level. If you see a
lit flashlight or hear "is
anybody out there?", step out of your nook into plain sight, and don't
approach the group. Just
wave and act friendly. Or even pretend to be scared of the visitors and
cower in "fear."

Don't touch! This haunted house is strictly "hands-off". You aren't
allowed to touch the guests;
similarly, they can't touch the monsters. Maintain an arms-length between
you and the guests at
all times.
