Hey APO,
We need candidates for UMOC!!!! Below is a note about what UMOC is and what
to do, so tell your friends- encourage your friends who are not affiliated
with APO to run- on the basis of their hideousness or just represent
something ugly on campus!!
UMOC is Coming!
Ugliest Manifestation On Campus
Voting: Lobby 10 -- October 23-27
Register now to be a candidate for UMOC, or to represent something ugly,
like a building. All money raised will be donated to a charity chosen by the
winner.
The Ugliest Manifestation on Campus (UMOC) is an annual charity fundraiser
sponsored by Alpha Phi Omega, a co-ed service fraternity. Every year, we get
people to run as a candidates as the UMOC, or they can run on behalf of some
inanimate object (like Transparent Horizons, Random Hall's 7 year old milk,
or something that's terribly ugly--maybe the Stata Center or its
construction). Each candidate selects a chairty to receive all the money if
their candidate wins. At the end, whichever candidate gets the most votes
(money), ALL proceeds will be donated to the winner's charity. UMOC a good
way to raise awareness about a cause or something ugly or even for your
sorority or a fraternity.
