susama already mentioned this briefly; here are more details...

this saturday, we will be cleaning up a portion of the esplanade. for
those of you not familiar with the esplanade, it's the big long park along
the boston side of the charles river. 'tis a very heavily-used park, and
thus it tends to accumulate measurable amounts of trash. we will be helping
to fix this problem, and make one portion of the esplanade bee-utiful. :)

unfortunately, i'm not actually able to be at the project, so i'm looking
for someone to take over the pc-ship. this is a wonderful opportunity for
pledges to pc a project, since it's a relatively simple one, and i'll also
help you with what you need. i'll let the new pc determine the meeting
time and location, but if such information is not propagated in time,
people should meet in the office around 8:30am, and if you miss the office
mob, we'll be at the hatch shell (slightly west of the longfellow bridge).
a picnic will follow; if you have any food preferences, please email me
and i shall make sure they are accomodated...reasonably, anyway. lobster,
for example, isn't an option, unless you wish to bring it yourself. :)

to recap:
esplanade cleanup! ~9-12, meet in the office around 8:30, then proceed
to the hatch shell area to bask in the green morning of a 4-day weekend,
and make the esplanade an even nicer place to be. :) gloves, bags, and
lunch will be provided. :) and please contact me if you're interested
in taking over as project chair. i hope you can make it!

YiLFS,
carolyn
