Minutes of ExecComm Meeting, April 25, 2000

Administrative notes:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Start:  7:32 pm; End:  7:52 pm Present:  Carolyn, Laura, Sam, Ellen,
Davidmac, Lokie, Ian, Jake, Foley
Officers' reports:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SVP (Sam): Hi. We have service. By an act of God, Ted Johnson
       of the CAC gave me two projects. He wants us to run Johnson
       Games this weekend (they'll give us lunch) and to usher for
       the Awards Convocation next Tuesday. Soon after, I called the
       Food Bank, and now we have another project the day before
       PCR. Project Linus is still in the twilight zone; it was going to
       start Sunday, but it still hasn't happened yet. I'll keep making
       sure it happens.

       Chapter Day is Saturday. Celine is having sub-PC's. We'll
       have a project [Johnson Games] in the morning, skills in the
       afternoon, and fellowship and fun in the evening. We need a PC
       for ushering next Tuesday--talk to me if you're interested. The
       Saturday after, there's Food Bank in the afternoon. PCR and
       finals follow.

MVP (Ann Marie): not present, channelled by Laura: Schedule exit
       interviews!

FVP (Joe): There are festivities on Chapter Day. I'll be out of town.
       In the past we've done bowling and IHOP for fellowship [at
       night]. [Carolyn: typically it goes past midnight, so it might be
       a bit tiring.] I'll set stuff up, but since I won't be here, I'll need
       a sub-PC. [Sam: we already have one.] Susama and Chris Leger
       are PC'ing I-Banquet. I haven't thought too much/figured out
       Afterfinals yet.

Treasurer (Oscar): not present

AC (Ian): It seems like there are issues with Book Ex Spring 2001. We
       don't have a room for it, and the spaces are booked; hopefully
       it'll work out. The people at CAC said they'll see if they can
       move things around. On the other hand, they asked for dates
       for Book Ex for 2001-2004.

APOcEd (Nitin): not present

OM (David): We have an office. I came in last night, and it was very
       clean. I was amazed. This is good. It should [be like this/stay
       this way]. In the near future (near the end of the week), I'll buy
       office supplies. Write on the list [of requested supplies what you
       would like bought].

PubDir (Lokie): Drop posters seem to be made. I will deal with the
       Infinite Corridor board. If you have any ideas, please tell me.

Historian (Jake): I've been learning Perl. I wrote some scripts to
       generate the Historian's Roll. It's mostly completed, and I have
       a copy of this term's roll. Comments about the formatting,
       corrections, additions, etc. are welcome.

Advisory Comm. Chair (Ellen): Hi. The Quinnipiac chartering
       is tentatively set for May 7, which is incidentally our PCR. I
       haven't heard back from them yet; the date is not 100% final.
       The issue here is how fast the paperwork goes. I saw the article
       about Andy Eisenmann retiring--if he stays around at MIT, it
       would be good to keep him as an advisor.

President (Carolyn): We have a chapter. Half of the officers aren't
       here [AC: at the time this report was given]--thwap them [nicely].
       Currently the DSK voting is still happening. If you are eligible
       to vote but haven't, vote now. The end of term is also coming
       up, so people should come next week and run for offices.

Committee reports:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Big Screw (Davidmac): I finally sent out the e-mail. We raised a to-
       tal of about $2902. I'm happy. [bounce] [Laura: news@the-tech
       is now on big-screw-interested.]
Coke (Emily): (channelled by Carolyn) We got more Coke. As soon
       as the ET van comes by, it'll be in the office.
Old Business:
~~~~~~~~~~~~
None.

New Business:
~~~~~~~~~~~~
None!
Announcements:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Laura: Write campaign articles.

SVP (Sam): Go to project, especially if you're a pledge.

President (Carolyn): Nationals called the office to get pipa's perma-
       nent address for the Torch and Trefoil. This means they know
       I'm no longer a pledge.

PFTGOTO:
~~~~~~~
David: We saved the [McDermott Court] Dot.
Laura: We had to destroy the grass to save it.
David:  I found a public storage place in Weymouth that rents out
       $65/month for a 5 x 10 x 8 [ft^3] area. I'll be storing stuff there
       during the summer.  APO [Book Ex]'s welcome to join in the
       deal.
Carolyn:  There's a Concert Choir concert on Friday.  I'm happy to
       give out free tickets.
David: The EC Lockpicking Competition is the 30th. I have the e-mail
       if you're interested.
Foley: My truck is broken. It is one-eyed. It sucks.
Sam: I want my knives.
Carolyn: I won't send out the Northern Sun catalog order until we get
       a massive order to get prices low. Poke anyone who's interested
       in getting anything from the catalog.
