Hi Everybody,
My name is Sarah and I am the coordinator for Talbot House,
which is a great house in Vermont that belongs to MIT.
Talbot House is an old farmhouse set up to accommodate groups
of 15-27 people. It is open for use by anyone in the MIT
community. Talbot House can serve as a great place for getting
together with friends, labmates, clubs, etc. for a break from
the city and MIT!
Right now some of the openings include the last two weeks in
July, and the 1st and last weeks in August. For more dates,
call or look at the calendars posted in the GSC bulletin board
to the left of the athena cluster in the infinite corridor, or
outside W20-549. If you'd like to book time for this fall
early, please let me know!
The minimum charge to rent the House for a typical two nights,
including one dinner and two breakfasts, is $70/non-MIT
student, $60/MIT student, and $35/children age 3-10*.
Additional meals may be purchased. The meals are prepared by
The Black Forest Cafe, a wonderful, nearby caterer.
Time in the summer and fall is usually wide open, while the
winter is extremely popular. There are many recreational
activities found around Woodstock: hiking the Appalachian
trail, boating at the nearby lakes, horseback riding, mountain
biking, golfing, tennis, and antique shopping. There are
brochures available in the office.
If you would like more information I'd be happy talk to you or
send you some literature.
Sincerely,
Sarah Tom
