This is just a reminder that there is a blood drive Tuesday through
Thursday of this week in Sala. It's not too late to make an
appointment, and it's certainly not to late to just walk in.

Let me start off by thanking everyone who came to donate blood at our
drive in December. We collected more than 130 pints of blood, which
is more than our original goal for the drive despite the fact that
the drive was originally scheduled for two days. On behalf of the Red
Cross, thank you for saving lives.

The Red Cross will be holding a blood drive at MIT from Tuesday
through Thursday, February 8 - 10, from 11AM until 5PM. The blood
drive will be held in La Sala on the second floor of the Student
Center (W20). Because this is a three day drive (rather than the one
day drive we had in December) we expect the lines to be much shorter.
By giving blood or by volunteering your time at the blood drive, you
can help save lives.

The Red Cross relies on appointments to decide how many staff to
provide on a given day. Making appointments will decrease your wait,
and make the drive run faster as a whole (even if you can only tell us
what day you want to donate, and not what time during the day.) To
make an appointment, fill out the form at:

	http://web.mit.edu/blood-drive/www/

If you cannot make an appointment please feel free to come to the
drive and donate anyway.

We are hoping to have more MIT people helping out during this drive
that we have had for many recent drives. This will help people get
registered more quickly, and take some of the pressure off of the Red
Cross workers. Even if you can't donate blood, you're welcome to
donate some of your time to the drive. Some of the services that
volunteers may perform are registering donors, staffing the canteen,
and providing moral support to the donors. All these efforts are
important to the drive's success. To volunteer, send e-mail to
<bd-volunteers-request@mit.edu>
