Your first aid chair says that giving blood is good for the soul :).
For many people it isn't even too bad for the body. And if you don't
feel like giving your life's blood, look, there's a free service
opportunity anyway. (I have no idea if this counts toward
service-hour-requirements, but I don't really think that should
matter.)

Hello, all!
As you all probably know, we are having our next MIT Blood Drive this
coming week on Tue-Thu, Feb 8-10, from 11am-5pm each day. Some people
have already written that they would like to volunteer for this drive;
thank you! I'd like to encourage all of you to consider helping staff
the drive.
Staffers help donors register, occasionally answer donor questions (or
refer then to the nurses), staff the canteen by serving drinks and
watching and talking with donors, and sometimes help in other ways.
It's a very easy job, but we need a lot of volunteers to keep the
drive adequately manned.
For those who haven't volunteered before, I'm planning to have a
meeting this coming Monday, Feb 7, at 7pm to give a brief description
of what volunteers do and to answer any questions or concerns you
might have about volunteering. If you have volunteered before, feel
free to come by as well to give feedback on how to improve the drive.
If you're interested in coming to this meeting, please send me email
and I'll provide location details by Monday morning.
If you plan to volunteer for the drive, please send me email stating
your name, username, and the days and hours you would like to work, so
I can better plan when people are needed. If you find yourself with a
free hour during the drive, feel free to drop in and see if we need
help with staffing.
Even if you can't help staff the drive, please spread the word that
donors are needed to your friends, living groups, and offices.
Thank you for helping!
+ Richard J. Barbalace
