This Tuesday should have been the third Tuesday of every odd numbered
month blood drive and dinner trip, but in these times a dinner trip is
not possible. On the other hand, blood donors are most definitely still
needed. Please, if you are eligible to donate, make the time to do so
soon.

The Red Cross is taking donations by appointment only.To find donation
sites near you, go to https://www.redcrossblood.org/ Many sites are
completely booked 7-10 days out, but slots will open up if someone
cancels or the Red Cross decides to increase staffing at a particular
site, so if your preferred location/date is booked, you may want to keep
checking back. The Red Cross is continuing to run blood drives at our
usual donation site, the American Legion post in Burlington, MA, most
Tuesdays. This week's appointments are completely booked. I'm going to
be giving blood this Saturday (well today at this point), in Woburn
because I was able to find an appointment there.

Also, many hospitals run blood donation programs, if you want an
alternative to donating blood through the Red Cross check with your
local hospitals for information.

SPECIAL COVID-19 INFO. The Red cross is actively looking for donors who
have been diagnosed with COVID-19 and recovered to donate plasma. For
more information about this and any questions you have about COVID-19
and blood donation, the Red Cross has set up this page:
https://www.redcrossblood.org/donate-blood/dlp/coronavirus--covid-19--and-blood-donation.html

Stay safe.

YiLFS,
