One of the upcoming projects we're doing is for the Project Bread<http://w=
ww.projectbread.org/> Walk for Hunger through PMD.
What is the Walk for Hunger? Cue spiel stolen borrowed from their website:=
The Walk for Hunger is an extraordinary event sustained by ordinary people=
. Over 45 years, the Walk has generated more than a hundred million dollars=
through individual contributions of less than $100=97a powerful demonstrat=
ion of neighbors caring for neighbors. The Walk brings together people fro=
m many different communities and cultures=97and attracts parents, kids, stu=
dents, and corporations. But everyone comes to offer hope to hungry people =
and to support Project Bread=92s fresh approach to ending hunger: programs =
that help to provide sustainable access to healthy, nutritious food to thos=
e in need. Because the opposite of hungry isn=92t just full, it=92s healthy=
.
We'll be making colorful ~4 ft signs to post along the 20 mile walk to moti=
vate, educate, and inform people about hunger + poverty in Massachusetts.
When: Saturday, March 8th, 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM (There are two shifts, p=
lan on going to the 9:30 one)
