Hey everyone!

There's going to be a Conclave this fall (the weekend of October 18th-20th)=
at the University of Vermont at Montpelier (UVM), in the Burlington area. =
For those who aren't familiar with the term, Conclave is a joint conference=
covering all the chapters in the New England area (CT, MA, ME, NH, and VT)=
, and it's a great experience for brothers and pledges who decide to go. It=
's a great way for you to get to know brothers from other chapters, learn a=
ll kinds of interesting things about the fraternity, and pick up new skills=
that you can take back home with you. So what does this mean for us?

-If you're interested in coming (which a lot of you should be), you need to=
tell me by September 19th so I can get the registration form into the host=
 chapter by the 20th.

-Each chapter gets two voting delegates; they're required to attend the bus=
iness meetings, and they're our chapter's voice in sectional affairs. I don=
't think we have to designate voting delegates on the registration form, bu=
t ideally we should know who they are by early October at the latest.

Logistical things:

-Ellen's come with us for basically every Conclave I can remember, and for =
spring 2013 she was gracious enough to drive the Alpha Chi contingent down =
to Connecticut. Ellen, are you/your car free that weekend? If not, or if we=
wind up bringing more people than can fit in Ellen's car, anyone/everyone =
willing to drive there or back and able to bum/rent a car from somewhere sh=
ould poke me ASAP.

-Accommodations. We're going to be up there for at least one and possibly t=
wo nights, and I have no idea whether the host chapter did a deal with area=
hotels or whether we're on our own for accommodations. Priceline says that=
we can get something in the Burlington area for around $100-$125 per night=
; presumably, we can triple or quad (or maybe quint, but that would be a st=
retch) in a hotel room so that each person's only liable for $25-33 per nig=
ht of costs.

-Paying for Conclave: Registration is $40 per person, plus $8 for each pers=
on who wants a T-shirt.

-Here's the thing; the cost per brother for going, getting a T-shirt, and s=
taying in a hotel is going to be roughly $100-$120. I don't know how this i=
s normally handled; does the chapter pay for the accommodations out of dues=
/reserves, or is each brother liable for his or her own cost of attendance?=
If some combination of Ellen, AnChen, and Ovie could poke me and elaborate=
on this matter I'd really appreciate it.

That's about it for now.

Yours in Logistics and Fellowship Support,
Adam Rodriguez
