Haven't seen much response (if you responded, I am very happy), but here's
more delicious volunteering opportunities.
What's not to love about cooking and cookouts in July?
See below description of our weeknight opportunity
on *Thursday 7/19, 5:45-8:15pm, in Jamaica Plain*, near
the Orange Line's Stony Brook station, 15 minutes from
Downtown Crossing. This is an excellent opportunity to
learn/practice good knife skills.

WHY Nearly 700 needy individuals and families rely on free,
appealing, nutritious meals delivered to them daily.
These meals, specifically designed to meet the complex
dietary requirements of people coping with HIV/AIDS or
other acute illnesses, help clients maintain their
health and dignity, preserve the integrity of their
families, and send the message that someone cares.
Volunteers help prepare and package meals, working
alongside professional chefs Brad and Pierre, who
teach valuable knife skills and food safety you will
learn to master. All work takes place in their new
facility, which opened in late 2007 with greater
capacity and MBTA proximity.
Volunteers must be healthy and at least 13 years old.
All volunteers must wear clean hats or provided hair
nets and disposable aprons and gloves, as well as wear
closed-toe shoes, clothing that falls below your
knees, and shirts that cover your armpits completely.
HOW This project requires 10 volunteers, which will be
a stretch in the mid-summer when so many people on
vacation. Sign up to participate by 7/10 at

Incomplete submissions cannot be honored.
After you successfully complete PMD's
online registration, you will see a confirmation
screen--You will NOT receive any confirmation email message.
Then a few days before the project, PMD will
email specific information, including directions
to the project site (by public transportation and
by car), what to expect, a checklist on how
to prepare, food serving guidelines, and
food safety and waiver form.
Individuals may only sign up themselves
(and may not reserve spaces for others).
Participation is required for entire time-No late arrivals!
Incomplete submissions cannot be honored.

individuals in meaningful, hands-on work

companies in building successful community
