Brothers and Prospectives,
--Short Version--
This Saturday, Feb 27th is the City Year Project, where many fraternities
and sororities in the Boston area get together to do service. We will be
volunteering at The Beethoven Elementary School in Roxbury. It will be fun,
hands on stuff involving building, painting, repairing and other such
activities. We will be there from 9.30am - 3.30pm (so probably 8.30am -
4.30pm including travelling time). Contact paulaj@mit.edu or

About the Service Site:
The Beethoven School serves a diverse group of children in grades K-5 in
West Roxbury. The school takes many innovative approaches to elementary
education and offers a variety of programmes to enrich standard academic
offerings. In particular, the school specialises in music, technology as
well as art and is a leader in taking innovative approaches in these areas.
The service that will be performed at the school will go a long way towards
making the spaces, hallways and auditorium more accurately reflect the
diversity and unique character of the school and towards giving these
children a bright and welcoming building to call their own.
About the Service:
At the school, volunteers will spend the day working on a variety of
projects. These include:
- Building storage units
- Painting panel murals
- Repairing stage door units
- Constructing mural benches
- Revitalising the Kindergarten corridor
Service Day Schedule:
9.30am: Registration
10am: Service begins
12pm: Lunch
3pm: Clean up begins
3.30: Service ends
