>>Officer Reports
>President
Membership Summit is this weekend; wings and I are going. Conclave is coming
up; mark
it on your calenders and email Liz if you want to go so we can arrange
rides.
>SVP
The Lego project went really well. We made 255 kits. There was the
possibility of
making this a pledge project, but that can be discussed further. CRC is on
Saturday.
We need a PC for HMMT next weekend. Bikes not Bombs is tonight - who's
going?
>PVP
People aren't showing up to rush events - there were lots of people on
Saturday and
Monday, but almost none on Tuesday and no one is signed up on Wednesday.
A couple people are for sure pledging; it would be nice to have more people,
so keep
encouraging people to come to events.
What's the distinction between PVP and Rush Chair? Sarah's had trouble
figuring out
what she should be doing and what they should be doing. The opinion seems to
be that
PVP is delegating events to Rush Chairs; PVP should know what's going on,
but not be
in charge of all the details.
It would have been nice to have more people helping cook for recruitment
dinner. Some
people went to couch deconstruction instead of cooking, but some people
weren't at
either. A list of phone numbers might be helpful to have so we can contact
people;
technically, it's the AC's job, though that hasn't happened in a while.
After rush is done, we need to discuss how feasible all these events are
when people
are hosed. People haven't been showing up to projects.
How many people will be at the pledge ceremony on Thursday? Please be there
at 7:20
so brothers can go over parts and make sure we know what's going on. Also,
cookies
from I <3 Physplant will be distributed after Tosci's, since there weren't
enough
people to go on Tuesday; it will probably take an extra hour.
Come to Rush Events!
>Treasurer
There will be a budget to approve at the next chapter meeting.
>AC
If you need a room reserved, tell me. If you want something put on the
WUAPO, tell me
where and when it is and who's PCing it. Also, I'm supposed to put together
a contact
list for everyone in the chapter, so you should tell me what your phone
number is.
>PubDir
Getting things into the PSC's public service bulletin gets people - some
people
showed up on Monday from seeing our events there. Those people have been
added to
apo-prospectives.
Once I have a budget, I can make posters and get Domeview adds and such.
>OM
Not much is going on in the office. I cleaned things up a little.
We're going to get rid of the leftover pillows from the couch that was
destroyed in
couch deconstruction.
>Historian
I'd like to have everyone send PC reports to apo-reports, which has
Historian as well
as SVP and ApocEd. That way, I can more easily keep track of who's been
going to
which projects.
>Chair of Advisory Comm.
Online LEADS - they're doing an online Launch, Feb 15. It's a webinar; if
you
complete it, you can move on to the othe LEADS courses at
conferences/membership
academies/etc. Ellen will forward that to APO news.
We hold the bank account for the sectional treasury. There was some minor
panic over
the past few days getting checks for sectionals needed for Saturday. We have
the
checks, but someone needs to be in the office tomorrow evening to pass the
checks
along to the person from sectionals. Xavier will be here around 6:45
tomorrow to pass
one check along; Liz will take the other one with her to the membership
academy on
Saturday.
>>Chapter meeting time
The WUAPO currently says 7:30, but we think we changed it to 8 at the
I-Banquet. The
WUAPO is being updated to reflect this; Liz will send out an email to make
sure
everyone knows.
>>Exec meeting time
It's either the exact same time as chapter meetings, or another day so
everyone can
make it. There seem to be a decent number of people who can't make
Wednesdays at 8,
so is there another day that would work for people? Would later on
Wednesdays work?
We don't want it to be too late, but 9 o'clock?
Conclusion: Same time as chapter meeting (Wed at 8) despite some people not
being
able to make certain meetings. If you know you can't make a meeting and want
to say
something, you can email the APO President or AC with your report or
whatever.
>>Budget
Suggestion is $50 from Membership and $150 from Brotherhood. If there are
objections,
bring them to the discussion at chapter meeting.
The PubDir was somewhere around $50 or $100 last term; he'd like it shifted
up to
$150.
No other large changes were proposed to the budget. Email the treasurer if
you have
questions.
>>Advisors
We need more. Do we have any ideas? We could ask the current advisors for
ideas? It
would also be nice to talk more to the current ones.
MIT is getting a new person in charge of SAO, PSC who will be in charge of
leadership
development. We should try and get them to be an advisor.
>>Bylaw Changes
Liz%20 sent these to apo-exec last week. We discussed the wording and which
of these
we want to present to the chapter for a vote.
>to change the role of Historian
At the end of III.10., add "He shall be responsible for keeping track of
eachindividual's participation in the activities of the chapter."
>to fix the contradicting references to the budget, which currently say that
the
treasurer will submit a budget proposal to exec before that financial period
begins
and that exec will consider this budget and submit it to the chapter at the
second
chapter meeting of term. Because our financial periods are terms, these
contradict
one another. These proposals would have joint exec consider the budget and
submit it
to the chapter at the I-banquet chapter meeting. one problem with this is
that it
would either be the old treasurer or the new, perhaps uncertain treasurer
working on
the budget.
In the middle of V.3. 7., make it read "to consider [...] for consideration
by the
chapter prior to the start of that financial period."
In the middle of III.5., make it read "He shall submit [...] Executive
Committee
[...] at the first Executive meeting following the election of the officers
responsible for that financial period."
>to change PVP/MVP name. This will probably go through.
Change III.3. title to "Pledge Vice-President" and change all subsequent
references
as well
>to change BVP/FVP name.
This may or may not go through but should be submitted to the chapter for
voting.
Change III.4. title to "Brotherhood Vice-President" and change all
subsequent
references as well
>> PFTGOTO
FUP - you should apply to be a counselor! It's about community service!
Piper is applying.
Popeye's is finally open again! (This is apparently near Fenway.)
