Volunteers needed this Saturday, 3/11, 2:30 to 4:00 PM
to help with serving wine and hors d'oeurves surprise reception
at National Braille Press, 88 St. Stephen Street, Boston

Contact Bill Raeder, 617-266-6160 or <braeder@world.std.com>

There is to be a reception held at National Braille Press on
Saturday afternoon, March 11, organized by VIBUG, the Visually
Impaired and Blind Users Group of the Boston Computer Society, to
honor Jamal Mazrui, the VIBUG founder and community leader, who
is now relocating to Washington, D.C. Virtually everybody in
attendance is blind.

We could very much use the sighted assistance of three or four
volunteers to help with the handling of wine and hors d' oeuvres.
This would be very similar to what you so nobly organized for us
at the Children's Museum last May, but, of course, on a substan-
tially smaller scale. Is there any possibility you could round
up two or three people for us?

This surprise party for Jamal will commence at 3:00, following a
two-hour meeting and access-technology presentation, and will
commence with the serving of wine and hors d'oeuvres to people at
their seats before speeches and presentations to Jamal. We
expect that people will then get up from their seats to mix and
perhaps seek a second glass of wine. The reception will continue
until 4:00 or a little after.

It would be helpful to have sighted volunteers present from 2:30
'til 4:00, to help prepare and serve the wine and hors d'oeuvres.
We can take care of the clean-up.

Obviously, this is pretty late notice, but...here we are. Can
you help?
