As I mentioned in the chapter meeting, there will be a Petitioning
Ceremony at New England College for group that is trying to start a
chapter on that Campus. Their big brother chapter, Alpha Gamma Eta
chapter, from the University of Vermont.

The Petitioning Ceremony marks one of the milestones that extension
groups have to meet on their away to becoming a chapter and it's nice
if brothers can be there to show their support. The ceremony itself is
very similar to the pledge ceremony. Brothers and pledges welcome.

The stages an extension group goes through are: prospect, interest
group, petitioning group, and chartering as a chapter. At each stage,
the group has to show an increasing number of members and internal
organization as they plan and carry out service projects, fellowship
activies, and a leadership development program.

If anyone is intersted in going, let me know. I'm definitely going to
be attending and can take passengers. I need to get there an hour
early and meet with the group after the ceremony so I'd probably be
leaving in the 10 - 10:30 time frame, returning about dinner
time. (Bringing school work to do while I'm in meetings is fine, if
you're interested, but worried about the time away from tooling.)

Subject: [AllStaff] Petitioning Ceremony - 12/5 New England College

I am pleased to announce that there will be a Petitioning Ceremony at
New England College in Henniker, New Hampshire, this Saturday,
12/5/2009, at 1 pm.

The ceremony will be held in the Simon Center. Directions to the
school can be found on the school's web site:

If you are interested in attending, or are working with actives and
pledges who are intersted in attending, let me know so I have some
idea of the number of brothers who will be there.
