Hello all,
I expect most of you received the dormspam I just sent, but it would
really help if each of you could send a personal message to your
living group as well. It's a lot harder to ignore something from a
friend, especially if that friend has had a positive experience either
buying or selling with Bookex.
Here's a sample message that Brown sent last year. Add your own
personal words, or write something totally different, and send it on.
(Note that it specifically mentions the COOP. It is not APO's policy
to specifically plug Bookex by bashing the COOP -- but
APO-the-organization has nothing to do with what its members say as
individuals. You should edit that part out if you don't feel
comfortable doing it.)
yilfs,
Alioth

Hey guys,
You may have heard of the APO Book Exchange, which I'm involved in,
where we provide a forum for the community to buy and sell used books.
You should do this, no really! Textbook prices are a racket; the best
thing we as students can do to stick it to the man (and save money) is
to sell used textbooks amongst ourselves.
The Book Exchange is the best option because it's low overhead and we're
not trying to make a profit. Therefore, you can both sell your books
for more than the COOP would pay you for them, and have your fellow
students buy them at less than the COOP would sell them for. The worst
thing that happens is they don't sell, in which case you can pick them
back up again, or have us donate them to charity for you.
Dropoff hours: M-F this week, 9-5pm, W20-415 (APO office)
Sale: T-F next week, 10-5pm, W20-307 (Mezzanine Lounge)
and the website, for more info:

You should do it. You are never going to look at that textbook again,
and you can help a fellow student out with a used book.
Yours,
Brown
