I have been clearing up the office in preparation for another group
holding a one-time meeting there. We're not exactly leading,
friending, and serving in our own filth here, but the following things
Should Not Be:

* Bundles of rebar leaning on stacks of books. I don't even know what
this rebar is for, but it needs to not be leaning on books. Heavy
metal things leaning on books cause damage, which causes irate BookEx
customers.
* Crumbs and sesame seeds all over the top of the microwave.
Seriously, *how* long does it take to wipe up after yourself?? Same
goes for the chip crumbs on the table, left over from games night. "A
project isn't finished until everything is put away and cleaned up" --
same goes for impromptu fellowship events or sandwich microwaving.

Compared to the vast majority of other student groups, we have an
AMAZING office. Since we don't want to lose it or have to share it, we
have a duty to live up to it. Crumbs and wrappers all over the place
show a lack of respect that I find very saddening. I'm not saying we
can't be relaxed in the office, or advocating that we ban putting
one's feet up on the table -- nor am I guiltless of the occasional
wrapper or crumb. But if we try to teach this fall's pledges the Scout
Oath and Law, which includes "Clean" alongside things like "Helpful",
what impression do we want our office to give? Think about it.

yilfs,
Alioth
