[This piece of mail is in order of importance, i.e. if you have little time, 
read the first few lines. If you want to know how Reg Day is changing, read 
the whole thing.]

Greetings all!

Registration Day Setup is happening this Sunday at 4pm in DuPont.
Registration Day is happening this Monday 8am-5pm in DuPont.
Registration Day Schedule Run is happening this Tuesday at 7:30am.

If you are on the APO signup list, you can go to the PE Department and 
register for PEs Thursday and Friday.

Lobdell breakfast is happening on Monday at 7am.

First of all, I am quite impressed that 16 people have already signed up on
the sign-on sheet in the office, even though I had sent no email as of yet.
I guess Reg Day is so loved by everyone.

[ What follows is long. It was written at 1am. Take the sarcasm, if any, with
a grain of salt. Some of the things below are funnier if you have worked 
Reg Day before. -The Editor ]

10 hours ago I got the final word from Mary Callahan, the Associate Registrar.
I didn't send out anything before now, as she didn't know how many people 
she'd need, etc. Why is this, you may be think? Shouldn't it be the same as 
last term?

Registration is going to be completely different, yet still stay the same.

We will be doing setup after all. Mary wasn't sure about this until today.
We will be setting up on Sunday at 4pm in DuPont. This means it is after
Book Exchange Setup and before a potential dinner trip. 

I will need a Setup/Manpower sub-PC, as I will be involved with a fencing meet
in Johnson 8:30am-8:30pm on Sunday and won't be there for setup. 

[Drop by and see what this fencing is all about. Boston College, Brandeis, 
Brown, Cleveland State, Columbia, Princeton, Rutgers, St. Johns, Northwestern,
NYU, Yeshiva will all be there. shameless plug, I admit.]

I talked to a few people who were interested in being food sub-PC (i.e. being
in charge of lunch for the brothers). If you are still interested, email me.


Back to how the *NEW* Reg Day looks like. The key word is _integrated_.

The students will all be arriving with the new integrated registration form.
One copy of it stays with the department. (NO CHANGE)
The address and schedule is all printed on the same form. (CHANGE)
Changes to both can be made on that form. (CHANGE)

The form measures 11"x14". (CHANGE)
We will be using "Magic boxes" to store the forms. (CHANGE)
We will be giving the students nothing in return for their form. (CHANGE)
We will stamp both copies with a smiley face. (CUTE CORNY CHANGE)
We will sort when we receive the form. (CHANGE)
We will sort between address change and no address change. (NO CHANGE)
There is a box for 'No address change' (the 'I can read' box) (NO CHANGE)
NO SURVEY! Rejoice! (CHANGE)

People making schedule changes have to go to the back. (NO CHANGE)
The back tables (manned by the registrars) will feature 3 APO workers. (CHANGE)

Freshman go to a separate set of tables. (NO CHANGE)
Of the six staffers at those tables, three will be APO, three non-APO. (CHANGE)


To sum up the three group where people will be herded to are:

Freshmen
undergraduates with no schedule change + graduate students
undergraduates with schedule change 

One more thing: we no longer need to be able to know our alphabet, because 
there are no more separate tables by alphabet groups. (BIG CHANGE) Anyone 
can go to any of the tables in each of the respective groups.

To sum up what we are staffing:

3  of  6 freshman tables
18 of 18 regular tables (these will be 2.5' high (CHANGE) )
3  of  9 back tables

To sum up the times:

Sunday:		4pm- 	Reg Day Setup		DuPont Gym
Monday:		7am-	breakfast		Lobdell's
		8am-	Reg Day			DuPont Gym
		5pm-	Sorting doublechecking	DuPont Gym
Tuesday:	7:30am-	Department Schedule Run Registrar's Office

Integrated is the key word, it's up to us to keep it from becoming an 
integrated chaos.
       
Why did I send out all this info? I just believe that the more informed we 
all are, the better we'll work and the better Reg Day will work.
