Hey everyone,
This project is perfect for us! The Girl Scouts are having an event
promoting science, engineering, and technology. They're looking for people
to set up some type of hands on science activity. It can be simple. They
suggested things like bringing in a computer, a microscope, some sort of
gadgets etc. Want to show kids something about coding or MATLAB? What
you're doing in your UROP? An 8.01 demonstration? A microscope would be
pretty cool. Whether you can come or not, let's brainstorm some ideas.
It'll start at BU 10:30-11:30, and then we can go eat lunch with the kids
and talk to them about how awesome science is. They'll provide bus
transportation to other places liek Harvard or the Museum of Science if
we're going with a group there. Then in the afternoon, until 3:15 they need
some volunteers too to help with other activities. Even if you can only
come for the morning, that's the important part. Let me know if you can
come and what sort of thing you'd like to bring.
They also will have carreer-oriented information for the girls, so this
would be a good project for alumni to come and talk about what they do in
the science/engineering/technology workplace.
YiS,
Sophie
