Hey, you get extended housing! That means you'll have somewhere to
leave your stuff for Afterfinals! Cool beans!
Please read below for more info.
The commencement peeps have also asked APO specifically to help out
with Hooding Ceremony - I'll send out more mail about that in a bit.
YiLFS,
Kristin

Dear Colleague,
I'm writing today to invite you to participate in Commencement 2009 as a
Guest Services Volunteer on Friday June 5th.
Our volunteers in Killian Court are vital to the success of Commencement
at MIT. =A0We give directions, answer questions, make conversation with
guests, and help them solve problems. =A0We are fortunate every year to
find friendly and resourceful MIT people to help us make this day a
great one for our guests and graduates. =A0Will you join us?
You will be working under the guidance of an experienced section leader,
and since all volunteers are required to attend a training session, you
will be well prepared for anything that comes along.
The Commencement Committee provides:
* Continental breakfast at 6:30am on June 5th.
* Training (about 2 hours; it is mandatory for all volunteers on either
=A0June 2nd (9:30-11:30 am) or June 3rd (1:30-3:30 pm), both to take
=A0place in 1-190.
* A break room (dedicated for volunteers and stocked w/ refreshments) on
=A0June 5th.
* Special commencement garb (vest or jacket) for the day.
* An invitation to the post-commencement receptions.
Guests start arriving several hours before the ceremony, so the
volunteer time commitment is 6:30 am to 2:30 pm.
Please register http://web.mit.edu/commencement/2009/volunteer/ online
to volunteer. =A0(Even if you've already "signed on" for the 2009
Commencement by way of an email to me or another veteran section leader,
you must still register via the web so we have all the important
information in one database) Questions about registration? =A0Please email
Alecia Batson at <mailto:alecia@mit.edu> alecia@mit.edu.
Special Note for Undergraduate Students: =A0Please register by Friday, May
15th at 5pm, if you wish to request an extended time for vacating your
residence hall.
For more information, please contact me jmcd@mit.edu / John McDonald,
Director for Guest Services. =A0And if you know someone who would like to
volunteer, we encourage you to forward this email.
Thank you for your consideration...we hope to see you in June.
Sincerely,
John
P.S. =A0Volunteers are also needed for the Hooding Ceremony to be held on
Thursday June 4th from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm. =A0 Please use the link above to
register as a Hooding volunteer
