Hey APO,
Remember, PC'ing something is a brotherhood or pledge requirement, not
to mention just a generally awesome thing to do.
And you don't have to sit around waiting for someone (like me) to
suggest a project for you to PC...if you think of some service project
you want to run, you can!
Or if you have some vague idea of what sort of project you'd like to PC
(like working with kids, or with animals, or plants, or old people, or
serving food, or repairing computers, or sewing, or...anything,
really...) but don't know exactly what to do, let me know and I can help
you find a project.
Here's a few upcoming things that you could PC if you don't have your
own ideas...
Splash: In the past, APO has helped out with staffing and doing
security for Splash. We should do it again this year--if you're
interested in coordinating some APO people to volunteer for Splash, let
me know. It's the weekend of 11/22-23.
World Computer Exchange: This is an organization that tests, repairs
and packs donated computers to ship off to Africa. They're interested
in having us work with them either on a third-saturday-of-the-month work
session (next one would be 11/15), on Friday afternoons collecting
donations in Chinatown, or (if you're more ambitious) organizing some
sort of donation drive on campus. Let me know if you're interested in
working on that.
