A fund is being established at MIT to honor the memory of Joe
Kuchta. The Kuchta family has decided that this fund will be used to
support APO. It will support APO for purposes such as, but not
limited to, support for students to participate in sectional, regional
and national events. Given Joe's active participation in conferences
at all levels and his quiet underwriting of conference fees for those
who he realized could not afford them, it seems a fitting way to use
money donated in his name. If sufficient funds are raised, the fund
will be established as an endowment fund and provide a perpetual
remembrance of Joe and his many years of support to APO.
While some of the logistics of the fund are still to be worked out,
donations in Joe's memory can be made to the "Joseph F. Kuchta
Memorial Fund", MIT account #2732166. You can make a donation on the
web (https://giving.mit.edu/givenow/) or mail a check to:
Bonny Kellermann, Director
MIT Office of Memorial Gifts
MIT Room W98-500
600 Memorial Drive
Cambridge MA 02139-4822
Please consider giving generously in Joe's Memory. Your gifts will
help perpetuate the memory of someone who made tremendous
contributions to APO in his lifetime. Your gifts will also provide
valuable resources to support future generations of APO members.
Also, a number of you have asked where you can send notes of
condolence to Joe's family. They can be sent to his daughter, Helen
Kuchta, 12 Clairmoor Dr., Nashua, NH 03060.
Feel free to forward this message to others who might be interested.
