Hello,

I wanted to remind everyone of the blood drive coming up this week at
MIT. As usual, all blood types are needed, but O+, O-, A-, and B- are
more needed than other types of blood. We hope to see you this week.

Subject: Blood Drive at MIT...2/11 - 15; Patriots t-shirt, pizza

Executive Summary: There will be a blood drive at MIT from Monday,
February 11, through Friday, February 15, in La Sala in the Student
Center. The drive will run from noon to 6pm every day except Tuesday
when it will run from 8am to 2pm. All donors and volunteers will get
a free Patriots blood drive t-shirt and free pizza. Please use
http://web.mit.edu/blood-drive/www/ to make an appointment for faster
service.

Hello,

Please allow me to begin by thanking everyone who made our November
drive a success. We collected 224 pints of blood. On behalf of the
Red Cross, thank you for saving lives.

The Red Cross will be holding a blood drive at MIT from from Monday,
February 11, through Friday February 15, in La Sala in the Student
Center. The drive will run from noon to 6pm every day except Tuesday,
when it runs from 8am until 2pm. All donors and volunteers will get a
free Patriots blood drive t-shirt and free pizza. By giving blood, or
volunteering your time at the blood drive, you can help save lives.

In addition to donors, we are currently looking for a volunteer to
coordinate postering for the drive around MIT. If you are interested
or want more information, please drop a note to
blood-drive-coordinators.

The Red Cross relies on appointments to decide how many staff to
provide on a given day. Making appointments will decrease your wait,
and make the drive run faster as a whole (even if you can only tell us
what day you want to donate, and not what time during the day.) To
make an appointment, fill out the form at:

	http://web.mit.edu/blood-drive/www/

If you cannot make an appointment please feel free to come to the
drive and donate anyway.

We can always use more volunteers to help out during the drive to get
people registered quickly and take some of the pressure off the Red
Cross workers. Even if you can't donate blood, you're welcome to
donate some of your time to the drive. Some of the services that
volunteers may perform are registering donors, staffing the canteen,
and providing moral support to the donors. No previous experience is
necessary to volunteer. All these efforts are important to the
drive's success. To volunteer, send e-mail to
blood-drive-coordinators@mit.edu, and someone will reply to you
shortly before the drive starts.

Blood Donation Factoids:

  * Meat, fish, sunflower seeds, and dark-green leafy vegetables are
all high in iron, and can be eaten on a regular basis to raise
    your blood-iron level.

  * An adult body contains 10-12 pints of blood.

If you want to forward this message, feel free as long as you are

behalf. If anyone wants to get on our mailing list they can check the
appropriate box when making an appointment, or fill out the form at
