Hi Alpha Chi,
Our chapter has been selected for the Floor Services and Sergeant At
Arms Subcommittee for Nationals next year. For those who don't know
what Floor Services/SAA does, it's a lot of fun! We're the ones who
keep messages and pick-me-ups flowing on the legislative floor and get
to wake powerful national leaders up in the middle of the night to serve
subpoenas.
This will take a lot of manpower, which we can get from other chapters,
but it also requires that we plan things logistically to keep everything
flowing.
Nationals isn't for another year, but we should get planning started
now. If you want to help make Floor Services/SAA awesome, blanche
yourself onto apo-nationals.
mrn (awesome, crazy Nationals co-chair) has found an advisor for our
committee: Andy Braverman. I don't know him, (apor1.org says he's the
webmaster and does alumni internal volunteer development for the region)
but mrn says he's the best person for doing this. If anybody has
objections about him or has somebody better in mind, please let me
know. Otherwise, I'll let mrn know in a few days that we want him and
we'll be up and running as the first fully functional Nationals
subcommittee.
