Next weekend, Columbus Day weekend, is one of our chapters oldest
service traditions, the Chapter Weekend. At these events, we go to a camp,
stay over for the weekend, and do service. The evenings are dedicated to
fellowship, including the famous (or should that be infamous) chapter
sing-alongs. Chapter Weekends are a lot of fun, and a great chance to get away
from MIT for a few days. (Look! Trees!! And they aren't surounded by
concrete!!! :> )
This chapter weekend we will be doing service at Camp Virginia, a Girl
Scout Camp about 40 minutes from MIT. The work involves staining cabins,
painting a few, and much landscaping work. Chapter weekend will last from
Friday night until Sunday afternoon, plus Monday if there is enough interest.
Rides will be going to and from camp throughout the weekend, so come to as
much or as little as you want. In any case, please sign up now, so we can
co-ordinate rides and food. Thanks in advance, and I hope to see you next
weekend.
