Hey, everyone!

This is a project that I may be interested in PC-ing, but that I cannot make
personally. It is also going to be over CHAPTER weekend (so, basically, I am
speaking to those of you who aren't going on Chapter weekend). They are looking
for groups of 4 to assist between 9 and 3 (probably three shifts, 9-11, 11-1,
and 1-3:30) for obtaining info, taking pictures, etc.

VERY IMPORTANT: I NEED TO GAUGE INTEREST NOW. If there's not enough interest,
I need to tell them very, very soon. We only need a total of 12 people for
this, though (I'm going to be at a debate tourney at Harvard). Please send me
e-mail IMMEDIATELY if you may be interested. If I don't hear from enough people
by Thursday evening, I'll call up the CP's and apologize for not having people
for them (which, of course, is okay). So, ARE YOU INTERESTED? Please reply
ASAP.

Project KidCare
Saturday, October 8, 1994
9:00 am - 3:00 pm
Lobby of the Student Center

The MIT Campus Police Department - Crime Prevention Unit is
hosting an important event. It's called KidCare Photo ID, and it's part
of a campaign by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children
to increase awareness about missing children, but more important about
steps that you can take to protect your children.

The purpose of the KidCare program is to provide parents with a
free, standardized high quality, instant photograph of their child which
includes current vital statistics. The KidCare Photo ID gives parents
"peace of mind" to know that they will have all the appropriate
information available if their child is lost or abducted. This
information is also important if you are in a domestic violence
situation and need to evacuate your residence quickly - "part of your
safety plan".

The Project KidCare is open to all members of the MIT community,
on Saturday, October 8, 1994, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, in the lobby of
the Student Center (84 Mass. Ave.) This event is sponsored by the MIT
Employees' Federal Credit Union, and you will receive a FREE ID packet
and finger prints of your children.

Of course, nearly all parents have photographs of their
children, but most do not have suitable photographs for release to law
enforcement officials and the press should their child become missing.
The type of photo needed is an unobstructed head and shoulders shot of
the child alone, which the MIT Campus Police will be providing to the
parents at this event.

If you have any questions about this event, please feel free to
call Sgt. Cheryl deJong Vossmer at 3-9755. We look forward to seeing
you on Saturday, October 8, 1994.
