Would you like to teach an enrichment class for local 7th-12th grade
students?

The MIT Educational Studies Program is running its fall Splash weekend
of activities on the weekend before Thanksgiving: November 19th and
20th. If you are interested in possibly teaching for Splash, please
e-mail me (drw@math.mit.edu) or call ESP (3-4882) to get a teacher
application form. If you already have a teacher application form,
please send it in soon, there isn't much time before we have to get
our catalog out to the students! If you have no idea what I'm talking
about, I've included a longer description of the program below.

Thanks!

Dale

Dear future instructor:

For one reason or another, we have you noted as someone interested in
teaching for one of our programs. We are always interested in finding
new people who want to teach with us. Programs we have coming up this
term are:

Our Splash weekend of activities for 7th-12th grade students will be
held this year on the weekend before Thanksgiving: November 19th and
20th. Splash courses can be from 1 to 12 hours long (though 2 hours
is the most common), and can be about virtually anything (we like
variety). To leave time to assemble and mail the catalog, and for the
students to mail back registrations, we need course applications in by
October 1st. We didn't have enough courses last year; we need more.
If you have multiple ideas for courses, we'll be glad to hear them.
If you have friends who you think might be interested in teaching,
please let them know about the program. To speed application
processing, we've put on the back of the application a list of details
we'd like you to consider while filling out your application.

Programs we run at other times of the year are described on the gold
sheet [which I haven't included -- Dale]. We are also interested in
people who want to help us organize our various programs. If you'd
like to help out, or if you'd like some advice on the course you are
designing, drop by one of our weekly meetings. (Currently Wednesday
evenings at 6pm, in our Student Center office: W20-467. The time may
change once MIT's classes begin; the new time will be posted on our
door.)

Hope to hear from you soon,
