We use both lynx and WWW line mode:
	lynx -source http://abc.com/bar.gif >bar.gif
		and 
	www -n http://abc.com/bar.html >bar.html	

There is also a script called w3get that recursively gets URLs:
	http://www.stuff.com/~bcutter/home/programs/dist/w3get.txt
