The thread discussing the overlaying of inline bitmaps is both
interesting and informative. I cant help thinking that its scope is
somewhat limited however.

I would like to be able to overlay *anything* onto anything else.

Specifically I would have thaught the ability to overlay bitmaps with
vector images to be most useful, but I would go further and suggest
that the ability to overlay a bitmap with text would not be an
unreasonable request.

This logic would surely lead to a generic view of inline objects, be
they: bitmaps, vector graphic files, frames containing text,
animations, sound files, or smelly feely files?:-)
And that *any* combination could be placed in any combination on a
"page".
