Toward closure on stylesheets

I think that before we can do anything serious about stylesheets, we
might first be better to study what we need them to be able to do. 

I am not aware of a document outlining the requirements, so, I'd like
to ask all the publishers, graphics designers, users, and browser
implementors to send me a list of things they'd like stylesheets to be
able to accomplish. In particular, I'd be very interested to hear
comments about layout requirements (fonts, colors, and such things are
fairly obvious). I will go through the mail I receive, and create a
list of requirements, which I will then send to the list for
discussion. 

If anyone has already started doing such work, please let me know!
