Hi. I am new to the internet so please excuse me for not
seeking information in whatever the correct channel may be!
I'd like to post a public message in a newsgroup or something
but don't have time to figure out how to do that right now.

My machine at work has 2 drives with 2 partitions each. I am
running OS2 Warp (full pack) with boot manager. I have OS2 on
the E: partition and and DOS 6.22 and Windows 3.1 on the C:
drive.

Yesterday (Friday 12/8/95) OS2 trapped and drives D:, E:, and F:
were seriously mangled. I booted DOS (all I could do) and ran
chkdsk on drive E:, without /F. It reported a zillion errors,
then my C: drive disappeared and the disk volume label changed
into what looked like a cryptic message.

I booted off of a clean floppy and ran MSAV with the latest
virus signature update - it reported clean. Then I dl'ed the
latest Mcaffee scan and vshield and it reported clean also.
Oh - my drives re-appeared on the floppy boot but are still
mangled. If I try to fix disk errors with chkdsk or scandisk
or Norton, more errors keep appearing.

THE QUESTION: Could you tell me what the best and latest
anti-virus software is that can check a machine like mine
(DOS, OS2, Boot-mgr, etc) ? It will have to run from DOS.

Please email me if you have any advice! TIA!

Regards, Terry Hackett
