Our company, Mystic River Software, develops and supports an embeddable
Basic language called SBL. Most of our clients use SBL on the Windows
platforms. We have ported it once to OS/2 and have been asked by a
number of our clients (very large ISV's) to update the SBL OS/2 version
ASAP (of course). We need assistance in doing this and are actively
looking for help -- either a contractor or full time. The project is
estimated to run three months with follow-on work likely.
A little about Mystic River. Our clients shipped about $750 million of
their applications with our SBL technology inside, mostly on Windows
platforms. They include companies like Attachmate, Oracle, Walker
Richer & Quinn, Solomon Software, Platinum Software, Borland, Btrieve.

Technical Info About SBL: SBL is a set of development tools which makes
it straightforward and economical to offer a scripting language to an
ISV's customers as part of their Applications.
SBL is composed of two DLL components: a Basic compiler/interpreter
(SBL.DLL); and a GUI front end to the compiler/interpreter (SBI.DLL)
which features an editor/debugger written in Visual C++ and uses MFCIs.
The SBL Dialog Box Painter is also included with the product.
Applications call functions inside SBL.DLL to invoke the compiler and
interpreter. It also calls functions inside SBL.DLL to register
Application functions and object classes. SBL uses this registered
information when compiling and running Basic scripts.
To port to OS/2 the last time, we used the Watcom compiler. We would
start by porting the engine only, then shift to the UI tools.
