It occurs to me that you're probably running into a known NetBSD/AFS
problem with replicated volumes. After a binary is updated with a
"vos release," NetBSD/AFS clients will sometimes get a corrupted
binary when they run out of the read-only volume. One solution is to
touch /usr/athena/bin/zwgc
This will fail, of course, but you'll get the correct zwgc binary from
then on.
