I would be nice if you did not have to bring the machine single user to change
things, but it is a reasonable price to pay for some additional security.
When we install a dialup, there is some software normally found on the /srvd
that we move to /var for conveinance.
As for changing the kernel...if a dialup was in production I would hope that
there would not be need to change the kernel very often at all and rebooting
to do that is fine.
I am still trying to put things into perspective....it was mentioned before
that netbsd was not 'bullet proof' How does it compare with say BSD 4.3 ?
Here is another perspective type question....if say we put a netbsd dialup
into productionb next month with the best newest software we could find, how
long would it be before we would need to do major software changes (for bug
fixes or whatever) ?
