Well, only one..
        I assume the installer will get a choice between the two
(1.0 - labelle as stable, and -current, labelled as non-guaranteed but with
linux binary support?).
        Anyway, if this is the case, then could I suggest the following.

  should a user choose the -current, a file in /etc/athena
which contains some version info will be created. At boot time (or in reactivate)
a script runs which compares the version to /usr/athena/etc/version. If older, it
tells the person to run /usr/athena/etc/update_machine (familiar?), which lets
him update (should we choose to fix -current or such)...
