bitbucket NFS mounting was acting strange.. could this be the cause?

I got this by mail, and am wondering if that might explain why NFS mounting
jason's bitbucket directory would do what it did?:

Doing an ls -lai on the filesystem gives:
total 13031
2048 drwxrwxrwt 38 root system 6144 Feb 18 06:53
2048 drwxrwxrwt 38 root system 6144 Feb 18 06:53 .
5486 drwxr-xr-x 3 root system 1024 Feb 16 20:36 ..
79872 drwx------ 2 16998 system 512 Jan 10 1992 ARun

What is this inode 2048 crap being listed twice? It looks like the
directory is messed up.... There are two entries pointing at the same
inode and hence causing a loop.... Note: If you do the same ls -lia on
jason, the inode of the blank entry is 2058!! It's as if there is a hard
link between . and whatever the filename is....
