Yoav's emacs problem... and pcvt.

Was due to emacs attempting to lock files in /usr/athena/lib/emacs/lock,
which was, of course, on the read-only AFS volume, unlike granola
and glacier. Zing!
Yoav will be rebuilding emacs 19...
Incidently, WRT pcvt, Yoav mentions that the /dev/ttyv* didn't
get created. Greg, they're not supposed to be created by default
(and indeed are not in MAKEDEV all), as pcvt is not part of the OS.
Thus, your install script needs to perform a
MAKEDEV ttyv0 ttyv1 ttyv2...
as appropriate...
