one thing to be aware of id s the need for a sendmail.cf
that is not like Athena's
i.e, a lot of people want the ability to receive local mail (for things like
majordomo). Is there a linux sendmail-cf we can grab? or should I sit
down and try and write one (actuall,y sendmail comes with a few
good sendmail.cf files.. I should look at those first)
The standard Athena sendmail.cf is quite capable of receiving local
mail. (I don't understand why so many people seem so confused by
this, but I recall it comming up with linux too.) I would try just
using it to see if it worked, if it doesn't, I would try looking at
the "Mlocal" line. If people have problems with this, feel free to
ask, I have a little experience in this area.
I believe that there are two sendmail.cf's in the linux sendmail
package. The "standard athena" one and one that is identical, except
for the fact that it makes the return address user@machine.mit.edu
rather than user@mit.edu.
