I am responsible for a few of the reboots, I find it is more
convenient to reboot in many cases.
(the last one was me rebooting to log somebody off who didn't
have a time-screensaver. and the one right after that was when all of AFS
went down, and it couldn't find any of the volumes it was looking for..
