How about calling Dell Tech Support and checking what the Optiplex memory
specs are? Just make sure you know the number that's on the sticker on the
back of the machine. They ask that so that they can bring up info on your
machine (with the config you bought).
I really can't imagine why the SIMMs would not work...except perhaps because
of parity problems or improper bank configuration. (I imagine that all the
RAM involved was 70ns so speed was probably not an issue.)
