Hi,
Does a port exist for Alpha? Kerberos/AFS/etc.
If not, would you guys be interested in doing it?
I start full-time work at Compaq Cambridge Research Lab (formerly Digital)
in late June. I might be able to swing a loaner Alpha and put it up on net
18.* someplace (maybe N42 since I know people in there) - odds are good
because as a researcher I can commandeer lots of stuff for "research purposes".
If some people are serious about doing a port and contributing the code
back to the Project (except for AFS I suppose), I can start the wheels
moving now - I suppose the only thing the Lab would want back is some
recognition for having loaned/donated hardware.
If I have time of my own, I'd like to help out with the port itself as
well, but I cannot commit to that right now. My interest is in XFree86,
since I want to use an Alpha from my apartment as my primary workstation
and still zephyr people. :-) But I think I can help on most aspects of a
port except for AFS, since I don't know enough about it.
Well, here's food for thought. Thanks for your time.
-Edwin
ps: I'm not on netbsd-dev, so please cc me if you reply.
