A number of cheap but fast Alpha motherboards have recently been made
available to the NetBSD community. (More information is available at
http://mail-index.netbsd.org/port-alpha/1999/04/15/0000.html) I
probably going to purchase a couple, and am considering donating one
to be used to upgrade zsr, if the sipb is interested. (To be addressed
in separate email communication.) Before that is useful however, at
least AFS needs to be upgraded to a 64 bit clean version.
Therefore, I am asking for volunteers interested in upgrading the
NetBSD port of AFS.
. Is anyone intersted in this project?
. Could someone with clue at least provide an estimate of the amount
of work that would be involved?
. Is this something that's going to be needed eventually anyway,
or is it only useful for supporting the Alpha?
. What are the details of getting access to the source necessary
for this upgrade?
. Is there anything else I need to know or forgot to ask?
Thanks,
Darrin
