This problem most certainly doesn't affect every machine.

I've never seen you go through any established procedure to offer
changes, nor have I ever consciously tried to impede any effort to do
so.  I'll certainly acknowledge being lame in previous NetBSD-related
efforts where I was a single point of failure, but I'm no longer in
any such position for NetBSD-Athena.
