one problem solved, one to mention...

i found the problem with the /etc/aliases file. the line:
postmaster@localhost: root
should be changed to:
postmaster@localhost: root@localhost
easy.
another, MUCH greater problem which i stupidly forgot to mention: for some
reason, random segments of horizontal dotted line are spewed onto the screen
at random times. it's not so bad on my machine, but my friend kurt
<collins> installed NetBSD 1.3 Athena and his computer was rendered unusable
by all the lines; he had to reinstall NetBSD 1.2 Athena. the lines go away
when scrolled off the screen or covered and then uncovered by a window.
also, when my mouse is on the very right egde of the screen, it begins to
flicker oddly. hmm.
