As you're all quite aware, SIPB-Athena needs to build Motif because
free operating systems tend not to ship with it. I did a little
evaluation of Lesstif today and determined that it isn't even vaguely
ready (at least, its mwm isn't), so we'll work with the OSF source
base.
Trying to get a clean Motif 1.2.3 source tree is an exercise in
frustration (I tried last year; you'd have to get the Motif 1.2
distribution and three patch sets, which are on different media, and
we couldn't find at least one of the patches). So what I did was pull
the RCS files out of ~motif1.2/SOURCE into a makeshift dummy CVS
repository and do an export with -ko. A little poking around suggests
that the result is at least close to a clean Motif 1.2.3 source tree.
I'm going to try importing as third/motif that and working on it; if I
find out that major pieces are missing, I may wind up nuking the
repository's third/motif, so don't get too attached to it right away.
