Could people please test this out for Linux and NetBSD and
send problems to Alex? (I'm out of town until next week
and won't have access to either sort of machine until I get back).

Thanks, Alex!

I installed 3.0 for Linux and made a symlink to NetBSD. I couldn't test
the latter as I didn't have a machine handy, so let me know if it works;
for now, the launch is via "add acro_v3.0; acroread". The default launch
command ("add acro; acroread") should launch 3.0 in a week or 2.
